Afghan Taliban Agrees to Release US Detainee Dennis Coyl

KABUL, March ⁠24 (Reuters) – ⁠The Afghan ⁠Taliban government ​said on Tuesday ‌it has decided ‌to ⁠release ⁠U.S. detainee Dennis Coyl in ​response to a ​request from his mother.

“The ⁠foreign ⁠minister said ⁠that after ​a letter from the ​detainee’s ⁠family … the Supreme Court … ⁠deemed the period of his detention ⁠sufficient and decided to release him,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
