Factbox-Storms Cut Power to 396,000 Customers in US Midwest, Mid-Atlantic; Ohio Hardest Hit

NEW ⁠YORK, ⁠March 13 (Reuters) – ⁠Over 396,000 homes ​and businesses were without ‌power on Friday ‌as severe ⁠storms ⁠battered the U.S. Midwest and Mid-Atlantic region, ​according to data from PowerOutage.us.

The hardest-hit state ​was Ohio, with around 123,000 ⁠outages, ⁠representing about ⁠2.3% of ​the state’s roughly 5.4 million ​customers, ⁠according to the data.

The hardest-hit utility in Ohio was ⁠a unit of American Electric Power, with ⁠around 40,000 homes and businesses in the state without service. AEP provides service to around 1.5 million electric customers in Ohio, ⁠the data showed.
