Gaza-Four dead in Israeli strikes

CAIRO, May 17 (Reuters) – Israeli strikes killed at least four people in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, health officials said.

Doctors reported that an Israeli strike killed a Palestinian near a police station in Khan Younes, in the south of the Palestinian enclave.

The Israeli army says it has killed a fighter who posed an imminent threat to its soldiers operating in the southern Gaza Strip.

A separate attack killed at least three people in a community kitchen near Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir al Balah in the center of the enclave, according to Gazan doctors.

The Israeli army has not commented on this latest incident.

Indirect talks between Israel and Hamas since the ceasefire have stalled and Donald Trump’s plan to rebuild the Palestinian enclave is struggling to see the light of day.

Israel has intensified its attacks in the Gaza Strip since the suspension in early April of its bombing campaign against Iran carried out with the United States.

On Saturday, Israel eliminated Izz al Din al Haddad, the leader of Hamas’ armed wing in Gaza.
