White House Favors Former Deputy Surgeon General Schwartz to Lead CDC, Washington Post Reports

April 14 (Reuters) – ⁠The ⁠White ⁠House is considering ​selecting Erica ‌Schwartz as ‌the ⁠new ⁠leader of the Centers for ​Disease Control ​and Prevention, The ⁠Washington Post ⁠reported ⁠on Tuesday, citing ​three people who ​spoke ⁠on condition ⁠of anonymity about the planned selection.

Schwartz ⁠served as deputy U.S. surgeon general during President Donald Trump’s first ⁠term.
